Pride in a job well done
Pride in a job well done

A successful reward and recognition campaign (R&R) needs a number of elements for maximum effect, culminating in a major recognition at the end of the campaign. The campaign may be to get more or improved:
  • Customers
  • Work attitudes
  • Profitability
  • To create a positive workplace environment
Campaigns
Campaigns are often divided into monthly, quarterly and annual rewards. Recognition along every step in the program optimises your chances of success. Minor awards can be cost effective small tokens of encouragement to success.

To plan a campaign Just a Minute Business Solutions (JAM) uses a facilitated workshop culminating in a simple one page plan. With the team buy in to the process results can be very significant and exciting for all concerned.

JAM provide reward and recognition programs to take your business to the next level. With web sites at corporate-gift.com.au and motivational-posters.com.au offering a range of rewards.

Essence Series: The Power of AttitudeThe Power of Attitude
"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst a spark that creates extraordinary results."

Hayden May from JAM says “I first became amazed at the power of an attitude shift working as a corporate employee in the automotive sector. The companies tried many ideas to get the companies into a new direction but often with limited success.”

“Eventually a campaign of positive reinforcement was tried and everything became possible. Morale improved and previously impossible obstacles became minor hurdles.”

“We use a combination of positive posters, cards, books, certificates, honour boards, framed awards plus corporate gifts and the hilarious Tom O'Toole series of books and DVDs. Our clients include banks, government, defence locations, corporate, small business and retail consumers all looking for that little extra edge.”

Putting it all together
People love to be recognized. Financial rewards are often only a part of drivers required for great achievement and R&R will always be a “work in progress.” Putting it all together can be as basic or advanced as your budgets and resources will allow.

A Basic program
A success program of R&R can start very simply by providing your employees or team with a certificate of achievement on a regular monthly, quarterly or annual basis. The certificates and software are low cost and are regularly used by our large corporate clients.

An intermediate program
If the budget will allow additional time and resources an R&R program could include:
  • Define the goals or outcomes you require using the simple but effective JAM One Page Plan (OPP)
  • Using the simplicity and immediate outcome of the OPP get employee buy in to an R&R program to achieve these outcomes
  • Define how these outcomes will be measured
  • Define how these outcomes will be rewarded
    • Monthly recognition certificates and motivational card messages
    • Quarterly gift
    • Annual recognition award and team honour boards
    • Annual prizes or gifts
  • To maintain employee enthusiasm make sure it happens on time.
An advanced program
For many businesses without the time to deliver the program the next step is to call in JAM for a half day, full day or series of workshops. The workshop or series of workshops will obtain the employee buy in to the process and develop a plan to implement the required outcomes in stages:
  • JAM meet with the business management team to determine the desired outcomes and an overview of the program.
  • JAM facilitate a workshop with the team or employees to gain buy in to the process.
    • Initial goals are modest: get the program started and obtain acceptance of the program.
    • Once the team takes ownership of the process momentum can develop very quickly.
  • Agree on outcomes and how they will be measured.
  • Demonstrate how the awards will be delivered at monthly, quarterly or annual events.
  • Be prepared to transfer ownership of the program to your team.
